We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Director of Supply Chain . This position reports to General Manager & Vice President and will work in Vancouver, BC.

About The Position Vancouver:

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As the Director of Supply Chain, you will be a member of Vancouver’s Senior Leadership Team and are responsible for the facility’s supply chain—from strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, production planning and scheduling, logistics and materials management, and ERP optimization. This role is critical to ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently, materials flow uninterrupted, costs are controlled, and sourcing strategies support rapid product development and long term business objectives.

Your Main Responsibilities Production Planning, Scheduling & ERP Ownership

  • Oversee S&OP processes to optimize purchasing, raw material inventory, production loading, and financial planning based on customer orders and forecast.
  • Production planning and scheduling to optimize customer lead times, improve work-cell utilization and direct labour efficiency, minimize on-site and in-transit inventory, and eliminate part shortages.
  • Business owner for the ERP system, ensuring data integrity, system optimization, training, and cross functional adoption.
  • Lead ERP enhancements, upgrades, and process improvements to such as error-proofing, automation, materials management and inventory accuracy, hybrid MRP/pull system, visual management, decision making capability.

Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management

  • Develop and execute an integrated supply chain strategy that aligns product development, sourcing, logistics, materials delivery to point of use, and inventory management.
  • Develop a comprehensive sourcing strategy based on organizational needs, supply markets, spend baselines, and benchmarking.
  • Identify opportunities for early supplier involvement, supplier consolidation, optimize entire value chain including shipping, in-transit inventory, duties and tariffs.
  • Oversee RFQ processes, competitive supplier management, cost analysis, and cost management activities to meet cost reduction objectives.

Supplier Management & Negotiation

  • Develop and implement supplier performance management system
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and performance management, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Create and execute annual cost reduction plans with clear quantified financial targets.

Trade Compliance, Logistics & Regulatory Oversight

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including customs, duties, tariffs, brokerage, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Ensure proper application of NAFTA/CUSMA and other trade regulations to minimize landed cost, minimize tariffs, and maintain on time delivery.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory compliance, economic trends, and trade risks that impact sourcing and purchasing policies.
  • Legal and regulatory issues related to purchasing, contracts, and terms & conditions.

Inventory, Materials & Procurement Operations

  • Ensure efficient and accurate delivery of material to work-cell (point of use).
  • Oversee materials management, inventory control, and procurement processes to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.
  • Implement inventory optimization strategies including safety stock levels, reorder points, and cycle counting programs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations on sourcing new parts, tools, and suppliers.

Leadership, Development & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members across supply chain, planning, sourcing, and materials management.
  • Promote continuous learning, professional development, and cross training across the organization.
  • Ensure employee compliance with company ethics policies and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in supply chain management. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, operations, or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in production planning, scheduling, ERP systems, procurement strategy, and supplier management.
  • Demonstrated success in cost‑reduction initiatives, negotiation, and trade compliance.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
