The Opportunity
This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for a proven operations executive ready to take on broader branch responsibility within a specialized logistics environment. As General Manager, Branch Operations, you will provide senior leadership across branch operations, people management, service execution, commercial alignment, and operational performance, while helping shape a culture centered on accountability, customer satisfaction, profitability, and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader who brings strong business judgment, operational depth, and the ability to lead from the front. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable coaching a high-performing team, strengthening client and vendor relationships, resolving complex operational challenges, and driving branch growth through disciplined execution and sound decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for branch operations, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly execution meets service, quality, and financial expectations Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and clear objective setting Oversee quotation activity, file execution, and shipment coordination to ensure client requirements are met accurately, efficiently, and on schedule Partner closely with commercial leadership and sales teams to support growth, improve win rates, and ensure operational alignment on customer commitments Drive branch profitability through active oversight of file quality, pricing discipline, vendor negotiations, margin management, and operating efficiencies Analyze service failures, workflow gaps, and branch KPIs, then implement corrective actions and process improvements that strengthen execution and customer satisfaction Build and maintain strong senior-level relationships with clients, carriers, partners, and service providers, serving as a point of escalation when required Promote a high-performance culture grounded in integrity, professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability Ensure branch adherence to company policies, operational procedures, training standards, and regulatory or industry requirements Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including sales, finance, and senior leadership to support broader business objectives and branch success
What You Bring
Minimum 8–12+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, freight forwarding, project cargo, specialized transportation, or a related operational environment Proven success leading branch, station, or functional operations teams with meaningful people leadership responsibility Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer service excellence, operational execution, and profitability Demonstrated experience improving processes, managing performance, and leading teams through growth, change, and operational complexity Excellent judgment, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the credibility to engage effectively with customers, team members, vendors, and leadership High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail Post-secondary education required; additional industry credentials or related professional training would be considered an asset
