This role sits within the Platform organization in Autodesk's Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions (PDMS) division. We're looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help us support the in-market product as well as build new experiences that delight users need.

You will be a primary member of a North America scrum team but share QA responsibilities between that team and another based in India.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements, user stories, and specifications to identify the features and functionalities that need to be tested.

  • Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the testing scope.

  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability and potential quality issues.

  • Assists in documenting test dependencies, assumptions, and test environment requirements.

  • Follow test schedules and report progress to the QA lead or project manager.

  • Conduct various types of testing, such as functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, as required.Identify and communicate risks and issues that affect the quality of the product.

  • Contribute to the documentation of test summary reports, defect reports, and other relevant information.

  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.

  • Work as part of a collaborative team of software engineers, QAs, and designers in Canada, Portland OR, and other worldwide engineering sites.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience performing manual testing of desktop applications on Windows, Linux, or macOS
  • Ability to analyze log files, interpret call stacks, and trace application behavior to identify root causes of failures
  • Desire to become proficient in test automation.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++
  • Experience with network debugging tools (e.g . fiddler, Charles, Chrome DevTools)
  • Basic understanding of project timelines, milestones, and update plans.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to learn new technologies and domains quickly
  • Empathy for users and a strong sense of product ownership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with QA methodologies and automation strategies
  • Familiarity with React, Redux, and Material UI
  • Familiarity with REST API testing tools (e.g. postman, swagger)
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with usage of Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions)
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
