The Individual Life Insurance Pricing team is responsible for the development, pricing, and ongoing support of all Individual Life Insurance products. We play a key role in ensuring our products remain competitive, financially sound, and aligned with our strategic objectives. The team works cross-functionally with Distribution, Valuation, Underwriting, and other key areas to support product launches, rate reviews and re-prices, and advisor inquiries, making this a dynamic and high-impact area within the organization.

The Sr Actuarial Analyst role is the sophomore role in the Actuarial Student Program. The Actuarial Student Program looks to develop actuaries within the company by exposing them to the different actuarial functions of the company while at the same time providing support for actuarial exams. While the work itself will be department-specific the role is the continued application of fundamentals of actuarial practice in a professional setting.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Developing a broad understanding of the practical applications of actuarial concepts and use them to develop conclusions.
  • Communicating basic actuarial concepts within the department both verbally and in writing, and prepare official communication within the department.
  • Upholding professional ethics, values, policies and procedures that support the company’s and profession’s standards.
  • Utilizing and developing Actuarial Knowledge and experience gained through research and development initiatives as well as education learning.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff.

To Join Our Team

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from a Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA)-accredited university or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • You have insurance industry experience including actuarial modeling.
  • You are actively pursuing a designation with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) or The Society of Actuaries (SOA) and are within one year of attaining your Associateship with either organizations
  • You have strong computing skills including experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.
