Engagement Marketing Manager, Toronto, Canada Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid — 2 days in office per week)
We're on the hunt for a highly motivated, creative, and data-savvy Engagement Marketing Manager to elevate our customer lifecycle strategies. You'll architect customer journeys within our marketing automation platforms, constantly seek opportunities to innovate, optimize, and push the boundaries of what's possible, not only with the technology but also with creative, engaging content. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Innovation
- Lead Engagement Initiatives: Proactively identify, propose, and implement new strategies to enhance customer engagement, retention, and loyalty across various touchpoints.
- Customer Journey Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize customer journeys, segmentation, and communication flows to improve relevance and performance.
- Idea Generation: Be a consistent source of innovative ideas, bringing new approaches for content, channel utilization, and automation strategies to the team, directly contributing to business growth.
- Performance Insight: Dive deep into engagement data to uncover actionable insights, challenging the status quo and inspiring new marketing activities that drive measurable results. Create and manage a Vetster marketing automation playbook and share weekly insights with the broader team.
Marketing Automation & Technical Proficiency
- Platform Expertise: Serve as the primary expert for our marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Braze and others), owning its administration, configuration, and advanced utilization.
- Workflow & Campaign Mastery: Design, build, and optimize complex multi-channel marketing workflows and automated campaigns (e.g., email, SMS, in-app messages), ensuring seamless execution and personalization.
- Data Integrity & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor, investigate, and resolve data synchronization issues, workflow errors, and system inefficiencies to maintain data integrity and campaign health.
- System Migration (bonus): Contribute to or lead aspects of marketing automation system migrations, including data mapping, system configuration, and post-migration optimization.
Content & Communication
- Creative Content Development: Drive the creation of engaging and relevant content strategies for marketing communications, ensuring alignment with brand voice and strategic objectives.
- Compelling Copywriting: Craft clear, concise, and persuasive copy for newsletters, email campaigns, in-app messages, and other marketing communications, designed to capture attention and drive action.
- Ideation: Develop new opportunities to connect, engage and drive lifetime value through the lifecycle.
Data Analysis & Execution
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze campaign performance, audience behavior, and CRM data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for strategic improvement.
- Action-Oriented Insights: Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that directly inform campaign optimization and future marketing initiatives.
- Project Ownership: Drive projects forward with a strong sense of urgency and ownership, ensuring timely completion even without rigid deadlines.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in marketing automation, with a significant focus on driving customer engagement and retention.
- Expertise with HubSpot, Braze (or similar platforms like Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud), including advanced workflow design, segmentation, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively generate and implement new ideas that improve marketing performance and business outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with a genuine curiosity for data, capable of asking insightful questions and translating data into actionable strategies.
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills for marketing communications, with a portfolio of examples showcasing your work.
- A strategic thinker with a bias for action and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams.
