**SUMMARY:**As an essential member of our Street Reach North team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a pivotal role in providing expert care, support, and therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and who are identified as youth who are at high risk of sexual exploitation or already have been victims of exploitation. This role is integral to fostering emotional well-being and helping youth navigate their personal journeys.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In Consultation with local services:
oConduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluations
oMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
oCoordinate care with other healthcare providers and support staff
oOffer crisis intervention services when necessary
oStay updated with the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment
oParticipate in case conferences and team meetings
oAdvocate for client needs and rights within the systems
o All other duties as outlined on the job description
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
oMaster's or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
oLicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification
oExperience with diverse populations and range of mental health issues
oSpecialized training in trauma-informed care
oExperience working with sexually exploited youth
oStrong crisis intervention skills
oMinimum of 4 years of clinical experience
oStrong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment methodologies
oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
oAbility to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
oStrong organizational and time management skills
oProficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- There is also an option for applicants from the South to work in Thompson on a rotational basis — one week in, followed by one week off at home.
- Must have excellent physical and emotional health.
- Valid 5F Driver's License is required due to frequent travel within and surrounding areas of Thompson, MB
- Must have Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C and De-escalation training.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and acceptable Prior Contact checks
- Knowledge of Indigenous beliefs, customs, languages and traditions considered an asset.
**SALARY:**Based on experiences
**LOCATION:**Thompson, Manitoba.
**HOURS OF WORK:**40 hours per week.
