Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Alternative Care 4 Manager or designate, the Support worker will ensure the supervision, safety and treatment needs of the individual are met. The role will involve working as part of a multidisciplinary, cross-sectorial support team for an individual with high support needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- The candidate must hold a certificate, diploma, or a degree in the Developmental Services, Personal Support Worker or in the Human Services program.
- Experience in the field of Mental health/developmental services
- Experience in the provision of individual support and crisis management
- Experience in the provision of trauma informed care
- Candidates without the specific education qualifications but have experience and skills that are directly related to the duties of the staff person, the program provided by the Alternative Care 4 Manager and the needs of the youth serviced by the Alternative Care 4 Manager.
- A First Nation, Inuk or Metis Elder, Knowledge Keeper, Healer, Medicine Person, Traditional Person, or Cultural Person who possesses, in that capacity, cultural knowledge and skills that are directly relevant to the program.
- Ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as determined by the Alternative Care 4 Manager or designate in relation to service requirements.
- Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable personal. Vehicle with $1 million-dollar liability insurance.
- Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Must complete a satisfactory Criminal Records Search with a vulnerable sector check.
- Provide proof of a Negative TB Skin test, MMR vaccinations, and current tetanus vaccine.
- Be able to complete the Pre-Service Education Requirement.
Hours of Work: 36 weekly
