About the role

Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Support Workers to join our amazing team working in Halton Region facilities. We’re ready when you are!

The Behavioral Support Worker is responsible to help care for patients exhibiting responsive behaviours associated with advanced dementia, cognitive impairment, delirium, strokes, and neuro-oncology conditions. For each assignment, you will be in one facility for a full 8 hour shift. This is for a termed 2 week contract

Qualifications

Our “exemplary standing” with Accreditation Canada is held to the highest regard and is a testament to the fact that we uphold the same hiring standards and patient care delivery as the facilities in which we serve.

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Child and Youth Work, Developmental Service Worker, or university degree in Social Services

  • Minimum one year of experience working with vulnerable or at risk populations including children, youth, adults, seniors and families

  • Completion of Ministry approved Crisis Intervention Training (or equivalent)

  • N95 Mast Fit Test Certificate

  • First Aid/CPR certification

  • Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire

  • Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap), and hepatitis B

  • Proof of negative two-step TB skin test within the past one (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G class) and automobile

Please note that based on recent government mandates and directives, healthcare workers are now required to provide proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination. If successful, new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
