Great Pay Is Just the Start $26.40 – $39.60 per hour McLeese Lake, BC Sharp Trucking Services / Contrans Tank Group is looking for a motivated Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic (Tractor/Trailer) to join our McLeese team. What You’ll Do As an Apprentice Mechanic, you’ll work under the guidance of qualified Journeypersons to ensure our trucks and trailers are safe, reliable, and road ready. Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining equipment to the highest standards to ensure optimal performance and uptime Inspecting and testing engines, transmissions, axles, brake systems, and other components to diagnose faults Repairing and replacing parts on commercial transport truck systems including: Chassis, frame, cab, body Engine and drivetrain Air brakes, steering, fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems Servicing truck-trailer and trailer systems including structural, brake, and electrical systems Following all quality, health, safety, and environmental policies Keeping the shop clean, organized, and efficient Assist with mobile tank cleaning division Other duties as assigned What You Bring We’re looking for someone who is: Passionate about mechanical work and eager to learn Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment Detail-oriented and highly organized Capable of accurately documenting inspections, failures, and repairs A clear communicator who works well with all levels of the organization Knowledgeable of relevant legislation and safety standards In possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Perks & Benefits We take care of our team: Competitive Apprenticeship wages ($26.40 – $39.60/hr) Boot allowance — up to $150 per year Health & dental benefits after 90 days Paid time off and vacation Employee Assistance Program Potential shift schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off (10-hour days)
