The Opportunity
Job Title: Insolvency Advisor
Location: Downtown Calgary
Reports To: Financial Solutions Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time/ Evenings - Weekends
What You’ll Do
Summary
The Insolvency Advisor is responsible for speaking with prospective clients to understand their financial situation and determine the best way Bromwich+Smith can help resolve their debt challenges. You will conduct consultations by phone, chat, or in person, assess client needs, and recommend appropriate federally regulated debt solutions such as consumer proposals or bankruptcies, or alternative non-insolvency options when appropriate. Working closely with Licensed Insolvency Trustees and the Financial Solutions team, you will guide clients through their decision-making process and work toward positive outcomes for both clients and creditors.
Key Accountabilities
Client Consultation & Financial Assessment
- Conduct in-person and virtual consultations to assess client financial situations
- Educate clients on all available debt relief options and recommend appropriate solutions
- Guide qualified leads through the decision-making process to convert them into formal insolvency appointments
Client Engagement & Compliance
- Track and manage client interactions using CRM tools to ensure timely follow-ups and strong service delivery
- Prioritize and schedule tasks across consultations, administration, and client support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records to support compliance and internal processing
Business Growth & Collaboration
- Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities
- Work with internal teams to ensure client experience and performance targets are met
- Contribute to business development and referral opportunities as they arise
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field preferred
Experience
- Experience in sales, financial services, customer service, or insolvency environments
- Experience conducting consultations, advising clients, or managing pipelines is an asset
Functional Competencies
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Empathy and professionalism when working with clients in financial distress
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Comfortable working with CRM systems and performance targets
- Collaborative and accountable mindset
