Minibus Driver

Do you enjoy exploring Scotland with like-minded people and feel confident driving a minibus on all types of roads?
Boots and Beards (B&B) are looking for a reliable driver who can commit to driving the charity minibus for day trips at weekends and ensure the safety of all passengers.
Role Description
This is a great opportunity to enhance your CV by taking on a role of key responsibility while meeting new people and exploring walk locations across Scotland.
If you have experience driving a minibus and are willing to commit to driving one day at the weekends, we would love to hear from you. We are happy to discuss any training that may assist you in this role and will provide ongoing support.
Duties And Responsibilities
Carry out safety checks before departing and communicate any issues to walk leaders. Refer to the minibus checklist prior to departing and ensure all necessary actions are completed, raising any concerns with the relevant walk leaders/B&B staff. Liaise with walk leaders to select the safest driving route and identify appropriate alternatives in the case of road closures/accidents. To drive the charity minibus in a responsible and safe manner at all times, observing all highway code regulations. Ensuring the safety and welfare of all passengers whilst on the minibus. Report any minibus defects, damage, incidents and faults in the B&B minibus logbook and clearly communicate the information to the walk leaders/B&B leaders. Keep accurate records of the miles for each trip in the minibus logbook. Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, ensuring that driving guidelines (including rest breaks) and the policies set out by B&Bs are followed.
Skills And Experience
Full, clean driving license. Experience driving a minibus in Scotland (including on rural roads). Responsible, reliable and punctual. Able to communicate effectively with walk-leaders, B&B volunteers and passengers. Willingness to travel and participate in B&B walks/events. Patient and able to stay calm in an emergency (for instance, in the case of breakdown or an incident). Up to date with the highway code regulations. Approachable, friendly and enthusiastic. First aid knowledge and qualifications are preferable.
Training and Support
You will receive ongoing support from B&B. We are happy to explore, with you, any opportunities such as further driving qualifications or minibus awareness courses that could assist you in this role.
