About the Role:
Reporting to the Purchasing and Sourcing Director, the Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the stock and term items replenishment routine for the Montreal branch. You will collaborate with Sales and Finance to ensure proper inventory coverage is achieved and maintained on an ongoing basis.
The successful applicant will:
- Review inventory requirements using Sales and Operations reports.
- Utilize Business Central modules (Purchasing, Inventory, Advanced Landed Cost) for ERP functions.
- Issue and manage purchase orders and create detailed documentation (costing sheets, sales history, etc.).
- Perform landed cost processes and collaborate on securing optimal freight rates.
- Monitor inventory levels to meet/exceed annual targets and validate values with physical spot checks.
- Collaborate with Sales Executives, Managers, and Inside Sales Representatives to purchase term order items.
- Prepare documentation for purchasing needs (costing sheets, term agreements).
- Perform landed cost processing upon goods receipt.
- Manage inventory and internal transfer requests from other branches across North America.
- Build and maintain key supplier relationships, placing purchase orders and advising stakeholders on timelines.
- Participate in vendor scorecards, SMART objectives, and fiscal initiatives.
- Suggest process improvements to optimize inventory and enhance program visibility.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:
- College or university diploma in a related field.
- 3-5 years in a relevant role.
- Strong purchasing and supply chain experience, expertise in ERP/MRP systems (Business Central preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in English is required to communicate with internal teams and external partners located outside of Quebec.
