Job Description
The Assistant, Web & Intranet is an entry-level role is for an individual who will assist in the day-to-day management of Michener’s web-based platforms. Supporting the Senior Advisor, Web, the Coordinator will ensure Michener’s websites and intranet remain functional, accessible and up to date.
Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting and monitoring of Michener’s websites and intranet.

Upload and format content (text, images, video) provided by the communications team, ensuring it meets brand standards and web best practices.

Assist in performing regular audits to ensure all digital content complies with AODA and WCAG standards.

Conduct ongoing link checks, image optimizations and content audits to ensure information is relevant and up-to-date.

Assist with WordPress plugin updates, CSS/HTML tweaks and basic troubleshooting of site issues.

Help pull metrics from Google Analytics to support the Senior Advisor in data-driven decision-making.

Assist in creating and updating documentation and guides for staff members who contribute content to the site.

Act as a junior resource on larger marketing initiatives, supporting web-based components of integrated campaigns.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Recent graduate of a post-secondary program in Web Development, Digital Media, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of experience.
- A strong portfolio or GitHub profile demonstrating a solid grasp of modern web fundamentals.
Technical Skills
- High proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
- Practical experience with WordPress and an interest in learning SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) for resizing and optimizing web assets.
- A baseline understanding of SEO principles and a strong commitment to AODA/web accessibility.
- Exposure to PHP, MySQL or Bootstrap is considered an asset.

-**Detail-Oriented:**Demonstrates a keen eye for precision, identifying technical inconsistencies—such as broken links or misaligned pixels—that others may overlook. -**Eager Learner:**Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of evolving web trends and proactively masters new systems and workflows. -**Collaborative:**Prioritizes fast, quality delivery and responsive support, ensuring prompt and high-quality solutions to stakeholders’ web needs. -**Organized:**Effectively manages high volumes of small tasks and support tickets while remaining focused on broader project deadlines.
