Since 2006, the partnership between Nipissing First Nation and The Miller Group has thrived on mutual respect and a dedication to creating enduring positive impacts for the community through sustainable infrastructure development.

This business relationship was initially built around the Nipissing Quarry under a unique ground lease that secured Nipissing First Nation land ownership while providing Miller a local base for quarry operations. To this day, the quarry is operated by Miller from a commercial building on Nipissing First Nation under a long-term lease and royalty agreement. The success of this collaboration laid the foundation for the partnership to grow.

Day in the Life

Your responsibilities will include safely maneuvering equipment to perform tasks such as loading trucks, maintaining stockpiles, and lifting materials. You’ll also be responsible for performing all fluid level checks and conducting routine maintenance on the equipment, cleaning, servicing, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, completing maintenance records.

We are currently hiring a Loader Operator to support our overnight construction operations (7pm – 7am). Successful candidates will work as part of a crew to safely complete a variety of duties contributing to the efficient delivery of the Hwy 17 Project.

Responsibilities

Operate loader in a safe and efficient manner Load aggregates into a hopper Perform daily maintenance Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks Conduct daily circle checks on equipment, complete maintenance records on daily equipment log Act in accordance with OH&S Legislation and Practices Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to work night shifts Reliable transportation to and from the work site for overnight shifts Working near/on construction sites Experience in a loader Valid driver’s license, with daily access to a vehicle Comfortable with working outdoors, in extreme weather conditions, and in a noisy and dusty environment Have mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance Previous construction and operating experience will be considered an asset Ability to perform manual labour Common Core training considered an asset Punctual and reliable Ability to work weekends Flexibility is required Excellent team player

Compensation Data

$28 - $30 per hour
