About the role

Eddy Group Limited, a Maritime based wholesale distribution business and one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has been a construction industry partner for over 100 years. The fifth-generation family business takes pride in providing quality products, customized solutions, and service to their industrial, commercial, and residential customer base. We currently have 11 locations throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. We are currently recruiting a Counter Salesperson to join our new team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, NS.

What is my role?

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will provide high level customer service to clients and potential customers, initiation of prospect calls and the establishment of ongoing rapport with existing customers. Additionally, you will:

  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Sales/Branch Manager with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
  • Support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell.
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, and prepare customer sales orders.

As an Eddy Group Ltd Salesperson, your role will be to exemplify our brand image as an ambassador and provide positive brand experiences to all customers. You will have sales background with experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or related field considered a strong asset. Additionally, you will have/be:

  • Strong knowledge of wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.

This is a full-time salaried position working out of our location in Halifax, NS. The location will be open from 7:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, but hours outside of these should be expected. Salary is based on an 8-hour day, 40-hour week. Annual base salary will be commensurate with your experience.
