The Care Company is looking for awesome, self-driven Nurses (RPNs and/or RNs) to assist us in the community with visiting nursing. In this role you would be providing diabetes management/insulin injections, g-tube feeds and medication administration, wound care, and covering shifts for complex care clients as needed whether at home or in the school setting. The ideal candidate is someone who is OK with a flexible schedule and drives. Clients will be located in Central East Region/Durham area. We will provide an additional $7.50/visit to accommodate mileage and gas costs for visiting nurses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Practical Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
- Must drive and have reliable access to a car
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR certification and WHMIS2015 certificate
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
