General Description Of The Role The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance operations within the facility. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor oversees a team of maintenance technicians, committing to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Overview Of Role Responsibilities People Management
- Manage, coach, and schedule maintenance personnel to ensure timely and effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
- Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance team to build technical competencies and promote career growth
- Coordinate the onboarding and training of new maintenance department employees
Safety
- Adhere to and promote a safe working environment by ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company Food Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality standards
- Support the sourcing and onsite management of qualified and safety verified maintenance contractors
- Foster a safe and accountable culture of maintenance professionals by performing risk assessments, safety talks, and BOWs (behaviour observation walkarounds)
- Immediately report any safety items related to you or any departmental employees.
- Maintain all maintenance spaces, equipment, and activities in a clean and organized manner
- Ensure any new materials, new equipment, new maintenance procedures follow our MOC (Management of Change) process
Quality
- Align all maintenance activities with our GMPs and FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) practices
- Ensure all maintenance materials and activities align with our quality and food safety requirements
- Communicate any observed quality deviations and work with the quality team to resolve any critical quality issues
Operational
- Schedule and support daily maintenance team activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), equipment history, and inventory of tools and spare parts
- Source and order maintenance materials to ensure timely preventative maintenance activities
- Participate in budget planning and cost control related to maintenance operations
- Drive effective use of resources to achieve maintenance operations budget alignment
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to support operational goals and resolve equipment-related issues
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures
- Drive overall continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reduce costs, improve team productivity, and delivery of maintenance KPIs
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and upgrades as needed
Experience Requirements Education & Experience
- Industrial certification in a Mechanical, Industrial, Automation or Electrical field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience in industrial maintenance in a supervisory or leadership role
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Experience with Megamation CMMS is an asset
- Has an intermediate understanding of PLC systems, replacement of hardware, communications protocols, Profibus, Ethernet distributed systems
- Ability to work collaboratively across department lines at all levels in a plant operation
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Strong competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT)
- Work outside normal business hours is required on occasion
