YOUR ROLE
As the Business Analyst Lead , you are a hands-on senior Business Analyst who also owns and evolves the Business Analysis function at Oliver. This is a hybrid role that blends deep delivery-level BA work with functional leadership, process excellence, and strategic enablement.
You will work closely with Product, Technology, Operations, and Client teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions, while also defining BA standards, driving consistency, mentoring analysts, and embedding best-in-class analysis and process practices across the organization. You will play a key role in major cross-functional initiatives, digital transformation, and process re-engineering efforts that deliver measurable business outcomes.
YOUR IMPACT
Business Analysis & Solution Delivery
- Lead complex business analysis initiatives across product, platform, and operational domains.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to identify business needs, define scope, and translate objectives into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process designs.
- Own end-to-end requirements management, from discovery and analysis through delivery, validation, and adoption.
- Support backlog prioritization with Product and Technology leaders by articulating business value, dependencies, and risk.
- Ensure solutions meet business objectives by actively collaborating throughout the full software development lifecycle.
BA Practice & Functional Leadership
- Establish and evolve Oliver’s Business Analysis practice, including standards, templates, tools, and best practices.
- Define what “great BA” looks like at Oliver and ensure consistency across teams and initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and provide functional guidance to Business Analysts, supporting skill development and career growth.
- Act as a thought leader for analysis, discovery, and requirements practices across the organization.
- Support capacity planning, role clarity, and continuous improvement of the BA function.
Process Excellence & Re‑Engineering
- Lead cross-functional process discovery, mapping current and future state workflows across business and technology domains.
- Identify opportunities for process re-engineering, automation, system integration, and UX/CX improvement.
- Facilitate workshops to assess pain points, design optimized processes, and align stakeholders on solutions.
- Partner with Technology and Business teams to ensure process changes are effectively implemented and adopted.
- Apply data, industry insights, and continuous improvement principles to recommend scalable, high-impact solutions.
Strategic Initiatives & Outcomes Management
- Play a key role in high-impact, strategic initiatives with measurable outcomes such as cost savings, efficiency gains, improved client experience, and faster time to market.
- Support the definition and tracking of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) related to process and product initiatives.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and prioritization by providing analysis-driven insights and recommendations.
- Support change management activities to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new processes and solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a trusted partner and liaison between Business, Product, Technology, and Operations.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support demos, training sessions, and internal enablement related to new features, processes, or capabilities.
- Gather ongoing feedback from stakeholders and users to continuously refine requirements and solutions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In Your First 90 Days
- Gain a deep understanding of Oliver’s platform, clients, partners, and insurance ecosystem.
- Assess the current state of business analysis practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establish foundational BA standards, documentation approaches, and ways of working.
- Lead or significantly contribute to at least one major initiative involving process optimization or digital enhancement.
- Build strong relationships with Product, Technology, and Business leaders.
- Deliver clear process maps, requirements, and recommendations for prioritized initiatives.
Ongoing (12‑Month Horizon)
- Mature the BA practice into a consistent, trusted, and high-performing function.
- Enable scalable delivery by improving discovery, requirements quality, and cross-team alignment.
- Drive measurable business outcomes through process re-engineering and digital initiatives.
- Act as a key contributor to Oliver’s digital transformation and operational excellence goals.
THIS IS YOU
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, or similar role.
- Proven experience leading complex analysis initiatives in a SaaS, insurance, or financial services environment.
- Experience mentoring or providing functional leadership to other Business Analysts.
- Strong background in business process mapping, re-engineering, and optimization.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Analysis & Technical Skills
- Expert in requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation techniques.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and digital product delivery.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Miro, or similar.
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, automation, and workflow solutions is an asset.

YOUR ROLE
