TC Transcontinental is seeking a dynamic and hands-on General Manager to lead operations at our Aurora facility. This site supports approximately 550 employees across salaried and hourly roles, operating 24/7 in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, strong employee engagement, and deep operational expertise to drive performance and foster a collaborative culture.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity offering a competitive compensation package and the chance to make a meaningful impact at a flagship facility. Responsibilities When your actions lead to success:
- Lead overall operations management and coordination of the Aurora business unit.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with corporate priorities and market trends.
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, expense control, and capital expenditures.
- Establish and monitor performance goals across Sales, Manufacturing, HR, and Finance.
- Drive employee engagement, development, health & safety, and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across departments including Sales, Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-volume customers.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, environmental standards, and health & safety programs.
- Represent the Aurora site in corporate communications, strategic initiatives, and acquisition or expansion projects.
- Champion a culture of transparency, trust, and open dialogue across all levels of the organization.
- Support and guide suppliers to optimize value and strengthen partnerships.
Qualifications When your expertise drives us: Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering/Operations, Sales/Marketing, or Business/Finance.
Professional Background
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in marketing and printing is considered an asset.
- Proven success in strategic organizational leadership, including driving growth and profitability.
- Demonstrated track record in employee leadership and team development.
Professional Competencies
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage complex operational details.
Soft Skills
- Ability to communicate with impact, foster open communication channels, and mobilize teams around strategic goals.
- Skilled in building strong relationships with customers, employees, and union representatives.
- Comfortable leading with confidence, humility, and courage
