Job Description
Position overview:
The Assistant Controller supports the Divisional Controller in all financial activities, including monthly closings, financial statement consolidation, and accounting management for Canadian and U.S. entities. He or she ensures the accuracy of financial information, supports internal and external audits, and actively contributes to the improvement of financial processes.
Responsibilities:

Perform monthly closings for various companies (Canada and the United States).

Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with divisional consolidation.

Perform account reconciliations and month-end journal entries.
-
Manage intercompany transactions and perform consolidation eliminations.
-
Manage the fixed assets ledger and depreciation.
-
Support the Canadian and U.S. accounting teams in their operations.

Produce financial analyses and variance explanations.
-
Participate in external audits by providing the required information.
-
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and applicable standards.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and the optimization of internal controls.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
-
CPA designation.
-
At least 3 years of accounting experience.
-
Bilingualism in French and English to support our operations outside of Quebec.

Experience in the manufacturing sector (a plus).
-
Strong understanding of month-end and consolidation processes.
-
Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, analysis).
-
Experience with an ERP system—SAP is a plus.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
-
Attention to detail, self-reliance, and a meticulous approach.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multiple teams.
