Role Overview We are seeking a Divisional Vice-President (DVP) to lead and own continued and sustainable profitable growth of Division 1 retail financial services portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, easyfinancial Retail, the DVP will provide strategic leadership and coaching to a team of 7 Regional Managers and approximately 63 branch locations across British Columbia, Alberta & Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate will work out of our Corporate Mississauga office 2 days per week to maximize on strategic relationship building & partnerships required to propel forward progress within the retail network. The DVP will create and maintain an environment of peak performance, excellent sales and customer service, strong collections execution; and be accountable for the P&L of their respective Division including all revenue and costs, and for achieving financial goals and targets. They will be tasked to ensure consistent process execution across all retail locations, and for coaching, training, and mentoring within the Division – and to bring best practices back to leadership centrally. This individual will have an exceptional grasp of the consumer finance & retail landscape in Canada including environmental/geographic drivers and will possess a good understanding of domestic and global retail trends.

Responsibilities (not Limited To)

  • Lead and communicate a shared vision for Division 1, building morale and clarity across all branch teams, with regular in-person engagement at Mississauga HQ to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Influence and persuade regional managers and branch teams to adopt best practices, drive change initiatives, and achieve divisional goals through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Drive results by motivating teams to exceed sales, collections, and profitability targets, establishing clear accountabilities, and monitoring progress across all western branches.
  • Take full accountability for divisional performance, including financial outcomes, compliance, and operational excellence, proactively resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop others by dedicating quality time to mentoring regional managers and branch leaders, supporting their growth, and managing succession planning to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Apply strategic thinking to navigate complex market dynamics, develop long-term growth strategies for western Canada, and ensure divisional plans align with corporate objectives.
  • Plan and set priorities by identifying key operational actions, leveraging planning systems, and maximizing internal resources to optimize efficiency and achieve divisional goals.
  • Manage strategic talent by attracting, hiring, engaging, and developing top performers, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to build a high-performing team.
  • Make deliberative decisions by gathering and evaluating relevant information, balancing risk and opportunity, and making informed choices that support divisional success.
  • Ensure compliance by setting and communicating clear standards for legal, legislative, and operational requirements, and holding teams accountable for adherence to company policies and protocols.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and respect, promoting employee engagement, retention, and a workplace where every team member can do their best work.

Qualifications

  • A strong retail background that includes aggressive and targeted portfolio and outlet growth.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of proven success in a multi-location retail management role, with a strong operational and systems background – a key differentiator to early success would be someone who develops a systematic approach to review KPIs and target areas of concern within their division.
  • Experience/depth in alternative financial services.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership with ability to develop comprehensive retail/financial service growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to build, inspire, lead, motivate and sustain high performing teams.
  • Displays effectiveness as a multi-unit operations leader by achieving through others and holding team members accountable.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills and a desire to lead by example.
  • Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills.
