The Associate Quality Engineer is responsible for leading all aspects of system performance testing, including the development of test requirements, design, scripting, documentation, execution, defect analysis, and reporting. This role also involves managing performance testing activities and coordinating with cross-functional teams as needed. Key responsibilities include analyzing requirements to define effective test strategies and cases, estimating and reporting on test progress, and maintaining comprehensive test artifacts. The engineer manages test environments, executes performance tests using custom scripts or commercial load testing tools, and analyzes results to provide actionable recommendations for product or infrastructure improvements. Additional duties include defect tracking, stakeholder communication, mentoring peers and testers, contributing to quality control policies and procedures, and participating in reviews of test documentation and records. The Quality Engineer will be the STARs Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in software testing techniques and software development lifecycle
  • 1+ years of experience in a high-tech industry
  • 1+ years of system testing and integration experience
  • 1+ years of system configuration and networking experience
  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Windows
  • 1+ years of experience with quantitative research methodology, data collection and statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HP LoadRunner, commercial profilers such as DynaTrace

  • Knowledge of Oracle database administration, configuration and troubleshooting

  • Familiar with networking and system resources monitoring tools

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including scripting languages especially Perl

  • Proven troubleshooting, planning and time management skills

  • Proven inter-personal skills and coaching skills

  • Proven logic and analytic skills

  • Proven ability to learn quickly, independently and with minimal supervision

  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy

Canada Residents Only: The salary range for Canada residents is $$51,200 to $$106,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
