About the Role

Reporting to the Manger, Financial Applications Brookfield Renewable is seeking an intermediate professional Systems Analyst, Financial Applications to support the day to day operation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise financial systems. This role is responsible for providing application support, troubleshooting issues, maintaining reports and scripts, supporting integrations, and participating in deployments and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ERP application support for financial business applications, including incidents, service requests, and problem resolution. Working knowledge of IFS considered a strong asset
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in a client/server environment, escalating complex items as required.
  • Perform research, development, testing, and implementation of solutions related to business application functionality.
  • Support and maintain COTS ERP systems, including configuration, patching, and validation testing.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute:
    • PL/SQL scripts
    • Migration jobs and custom events within ERP platforms (e.g., IFS)
  • Build and maintain application tables, reports, and related database objects to support ERP.
  • Support software integrations and external interfaces, including third-party data feeds with ERP platforms (e.g., FX rate integrations).
  • Participate in ERP package deployments, upgrades, and regression testing.
  • Analyze and revise existing system logic, jobs, and documentation to improve stability and efficiency of ERP.
  • Document and maintain operational procedures in alignment with Company control policies and SOX requirements.
  • Provide audit walkthrough support, including evidence gathering and control explanations.
  • Support scheduled jobs, monitoring activities, and recurring operational processes.
  • Act as backup support for the Senior Systems Analyst, ERP.
  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders, IT partners, and vendors to resolve issues and deliver operational improvements.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • University or College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Two to five (2–5) years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Application Support Analyst, or similar role.

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, PLSQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred).

  • Experience monitoring, configuring and documenting, troubleshooting, and maintaining ERP systems. Knowledge of IFS as the primary ERP platform is considered a strong asset.

  • Knowledge of OS and application layer patching

  • Knowledge of server and business applications configuration and implementation/migration

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, planning, and time-management skills.

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations; ability to manage time effectively.

  • Ability to identify problems and deal with situations and issues proactively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough manner.

  • Experience in root cause analysis and providing workarounds and solutions for custom coded applications as well as commercial software

  • Good working knowledge of formal change management processes

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework would be considered an asset

  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements would be considered an asset

Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively. We will reassess the approach on a as needed basis.
