About the role

Our client, a leading distributor within the construction materials sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Procurement & Supply Chain to lead and transform its end-to-end supply chain function. This opportunity is ideal for a proven supply chain leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and possesses deep expertise in procurement, inventory management, logistics, supplier management, and supply chain transformation. As the Director, Procurement & Supply Chain, you will provide overall leadership for sourcing, procurement, inventory planning, transportation, supplier management, and supply chain optimization initiatives. You will work closely with executive leadership and operational stakeholders to ensure supply chain performance supports both customer expectations and business objectives. The key responsibilities include:

Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with company growth objectives, customer requirements, and market demands. Collaborate with executive leadership across Sales, Finance, Operations, and other functional areas to align supply chain priorities with organizational goals. Design and continuously improve sourcing models, supplier networks, inventory strategies, and distribution processes. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship programs to ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and service excellence. Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, supplier contracts, and service-level expectations. Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs while improving supplier performance and operational effectiveness. Develop supplier risk mitigation strategies and diversification plans to strengthen business continuity. Establish inventory management policies and replenishment strategies that support customer service objectives and working capital targets. Drive inventory optimization initiatives based on demand forecasts, project activity, and seasonal market trends. Oversee transportation and distribution strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain service levels. Lead the evaluation and implementation of supply chain technologies, including ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), automation tools, and analytics platforms. Develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards that provide visibility into supply chain performance and support data-driven decision making. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Promote a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and customer service throughout the supply chain function. Develop and maintain robust supply chain risk management frameworks. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
