Job Description This position will report to the Manager, Professional Practitioner.
Accountabilities
- Provide quality occupational therapy services within a client-centred framework
- Determine the physical, perceptual, cognitive and functional status of patients through administration of formal and informal assessments; plan and implement interventions to enhance overall functioning; and make recommendations regarding level of support required upon discharge
- Provide education to the patients, their families, students and interdisciplinary members and participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees and quality initiatives in the program and occupational therapy team as needed
- Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the COTO
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Membership in CAOT or OSOT preferred
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
- Recent experience in adult physical medicine
- Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to general medicine and rehab clients
- Experience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual and physical health related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance
- Demonstrated ability to manage high caseload volumes
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
Additional Information Hours: Currently days/evenings, 8 hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
