Job Description- We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Mainframe Rehosting Specialist (10+ years) to lead and execute large-scale mainframe modernization and rehosting initiatives. This is a deeply hands-on technical role, requiring strong expertise in mainframe technologies, rehosting platforms (Raincode/Micro Focus), and cloud modernization (Azure). The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end transformation, from assessment through migration and post-migration optimization.

Mainframe Rehosting & Modernization Lead mainframe rehosting initiatives using: Rain code (Mandatory) Micro Focus (Mandatory) Define and execute: Rehosting (Lift & Shift) strategies Replatforming and selective refactoring approaches Drive mainframe transformation programs (extremely good to have) Develop modernization roadmaps, timelines, and execution plans

Hands-On Application Transformation Perform deep technical work on legacy systems built with: COBOL (Mandatory) PL1 (Mandatory) Assembler (Mandatory) CICS (Mandatory) Analyze and modernize: JCL, IMS, DB2, VSAM-based applications Good to have: Eztrieve Execute: Code remediation Conversion validation Runtime behavior fixes

Database Migration & Data Transformation Lead DB2 → SQL Server migration (Mandatory) Define: Data mapping and transformation strategies Reconciliation and validation processes Ensure: Data integrity Performance optimization Minimal downtime during cutover

Azure Cloud Enablement Design and implement Azure-based solutions: Compute (VMs, rehosted workloads) Networking (VNETs, hybrid connectivity) Storage Security (RBAC, Key Vault) Enable integration between: Rehosted applications Modern cloud services and APIs

Performance & Optimization Ensure post-migration: Performance parity or improvement vs. mainframe High availability and disaster recovery Optimize: Batch jobs and scheduling Online transaction processing systems

Migration Delivery & Execution Work closely with: Application teams Cloud engineers DevOps and QA teams Business stakeholders Lead: Migration planning Execution Testing and validation Cutover and go-live

Governance, Risk & Best Practices Define and enforce: Migration standards and frameworks Architecture best practices Identify: Risks and dependencies Implement mitigation strategies across the migration lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications ✅ Mainframe Technologies (Mandatory) Strong hands-on experience with: COBOL PL1 Assembler CICS Strong knowledge of: JCL, IMS, DB2, VSAM Batch and online processing systems
