The role:
The incumbent is responsible for supporting Meridian OneCap (MOCC) in achieving their goals nationally, by supporting projects/activities in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by senior management. The incumbent is responsible for playing a leading role in various initiatives relating to improving business processes across the organization. Depending on the scope / size of the project, this may involve leading the gathering of business requirements, ensuring that the design and integration of proposed solutions leads to the development and growth of the business, and overseeing the work product of supervisors, project leads, and/or staff.
The role supports all functional areas in providing technical support for maintaining, developing, and improving product offerings and functional processes related to equipment finance. The incumbent is also actively involved in various new projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Sales Support
- Supports Business Development efforts for new programs/products and complex transaction by leading the Onboarding process, providing expertise, ensuring appropriate documentation, structures and process are in place for the entirety of the equipment finance transaction life cycle (opportunity through lease termination). As part of the Onboarding process, coordinate activities and approvals from Legal, Credit, Finance and Operations; create workflows and implementation plans as required.
- Accountable for ensuring all programs are in compliance with MOCC policies and well as applicable regulations for all provincial jurisdictions MOCC operates within.
- Plays an integral role in the Document Control process which include 1) maintaining an updated inventory of standard form documents, 2) working with Legal on updates to documents, 3) ensuring all transactional documents are on approved forms.
- Works with Risk and both internal and external legal counsel to finalize agreements, transactional documents/templates.
- Manages the vendor onboarding process: setting up new vendors in the system, completing banking information verification calls, tracking progress, and coordinating between sales and credit as needed
Operations Excellence
- Partners with other teams to assess, analyze, and document business needs, recommending solutions that improve processes and support organizational goals
- Supports transformation initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies, analyzing business processes, and recommending data-driven solutions.
- Conducts end-to-end analysis of operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and document current and future state processes.
- Supports the strategic vision of the company by promoting and enabling change management efforts. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various processes and system initiatives
- Translates business needs into functional specifications for IT and project teams.
- Assists in the system enhancement process by developing and completing UAT scripts, creating training materials, and successful implementation.
- Maintains and develops various reference guides and training materials or other tools as required to ensure consistency and effective roll-out of initiatives, system enhancements, products and programs.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the various policies and procedures within the back office. Includes collaborating with accounting and treasury to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting, securitization, and statutory requirements.
- Assists in managing through various tax and regulatory changes and their implications on the business.
Syndication Operations
- Manages the syndication desk: submitting applications to credit, preparing funding packages, handle inquiries from syndication partners, handle remittance and insurance reporting
- Manages syndication relationships, including monthly calls with partners to review portfolio performance and plan for upcoming fundings
- Coordinates with Sales and Credit to obtain approvals and provide pricing to partners
Risk Management
- Evaluates processes and documentation considering risk management implications and engages enterprise risk and operational risk owners as appropriate.
- Evaluates and tests new and changes to the products and programs prior to implementation to ensure key deliverables will be achieved and appropriate controls are in place.

- Strong business orientation, strategic and disciplined thinking
- Strong analytical, creative problem-solving and sound decision-making skills.
- Strong technical skills working with document creation, change control, forms and automation. Key technologies include Adobe, eSignature, SharePoint, CRM
- Knowledge of leasing industry and relevant industry experience
- Understanding of equipment leasing lifecycle including (origination to funding/lending to servicing to collections a proven track record of developing and integrating operational efficiencies that achieve desired growth, and meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs)
- Detailed knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements. Strong knowledge of PPSA/PMSI, liens and lease law, is an asset.
- Proven ability to collaborate and partner with internal key lines of business including, sales channels- national, digital, brokerage, business development and insurance.
- Ability to leverage technology to create efficiencies in day-to-day operations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Well-developed influencing and negotiation skills to manage and resolve issues effectively within a sophisticated environment
This role represents an existing vacancy. Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process
Salary Range: CAD $68,800 – $103,200 annually
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: Toronto Corporate Offices. This is a hybrid opportunity.
