The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Director to join our Frostbite Core Services Developer Efficiency & Quality team in Vancouver. In this role, you’ll lead efforts to improve Frostbite software quality and develop more efficient developer workflows using AI-driven tools, with a goal of helping Frostbite and our game team partners work more efficiently while ensuring high-quality outcomes. You’ll collaborate with technical leaders across Frostbite to set strategy, reduce risks, and drive innovation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead teams delivering Frostbite technologies across EA.
- Partner with leaders to align technical strategies and project goals.
- Mentor and support the growth of future technical leaders.
- Champion quality, automation, and AI solutions.
- Drive cross-team collaboration and engine-wide initiatives.
What We’re Looking For

10+ years in software development, including 3+ years leading technical teams

Experience in at least two of the following areas:
- AAA game development
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)
- Software quality leadership

Strong background in C++ and/or C#, plus Agile and continuous delivery practices.

Passion for innovation and building scalable, high-quality systems.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$138,700 - $199,900 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
