The Role
The Commercial Finance Manager supports the Americas commercial team in developing financial models and pricing strategies that enable business growth. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset, looking to grow within a dynamic commercial finance environment.
This role reports to Senior Manager Commercial Finance
Key Accountabilities

Develop and review commercial models for bids and proposals, incorporating pricing, operational inputs, legal terms, and negotiation strategies.

Ensure commercial governance through structured bid and opportunity reviews.
-
Identify and communicate commercial risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
-
Conduct post-contract reviews to assess performance against initial models and support contract optimization.
-
Maintain and enhance commercial data and benchmarks to improve modeling accuracy.
-
Collaborate with legal and operations teams to ensure contracts reflect agreed commercial terms.
-
Support pricing revisions and scope changes for existing clients to maximize financial contribution.
-
Provide input for internal reporting on commercial negotiations and performance.
-
Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies across the business.
Skills & Experience
Client Focus:

Provide support to sales teams during commercial negotiations by preparing and updating flexible pricing models in real time, ensuring alignment with client requirements and internal guidelines.

Undertake post contract lifetime reviews on clients to analyze performance of contract against initial models to identify potential operational issues or potential changes in scope which may require further negotiation to help achieve contract optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Develop close relationships with sales and business heads to ensure commercial function is an integral part of all aspects of sales and operations.

Work with finance team to ensure commercial models are developed with consideration of all financial and accounting aspects, and to ensure commercials for new wins are properly handed over to the relevant Finance Manager for forecasting and budgetary purposes.

Understanding AMS people are a key market differentiator and is genuinely committed to the development of direct reports
Process Optimization and Change Management:

Supports efforts to improve internal processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements that promote scalability. Assists in implementing changes with minimal disruption, contributing to improved team productivity and client outcomes.
