Position Summary:

The Cosmetics & Esthetics Technician is responsible for overseeing and supporting various aspects of Evolutions Spa's operations, with a particular emphasis on student supervision and the efficient functioning of spa procedures. This role encompasses technical, logistical, and clerical support for the Cosmetic Techniques Management (CTM), Esthetics & Medical Spa Therapies (MST), Medical Esthetics Nursing (MDN), and Esthetician (EST) programs. Key responsibilities include supervising spa procedures, training students, maintaining inventory, managing retail operations, and ensuring the smooth operation of spa software systems. Additionally, the role involves administrative duties, support for program coordinators and faculty, and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Student Supervision

  • Creates student orientation, student’s spa contracts, daily procedures, protocols, schedules, and setup/cleaning/take down checklists.
  • Observes and tracks students in treatment performance, recommendation of home care and treatment plans, and overall customer service skills to assign a final grade.

Operations

  • Schedules student shifts into the spa software system, arranges appointments/treatments and schedules, performs daily deposits, lab setup to meet daily requirements.
  • Oversees the retail operations, marketing, and communication strategies and tactics.
  • Maintains equipment and furniture in 3 dedicated labs, including manicure tables, magnifying lamps, steamers, beauty machines, esthetic beds, pedicure stands, salon account management software. This also includes labs associated with the
    EST/MST, MDN, and CTM Programs.
  • Maintains spa software systems and Moneris machine.

Administrative Support

  • Sources to meet college and SOF requirements and orders. Receives and processes orders, and stock inventory (supplies and products).
  • Processes LPO’s for these supplies. Records inventory and maintains, packs and prepares for selling student kits.
  • Assists program coordinator, open house and information sessions for new applicants.
  • Assists faculty, coordinators, and student advisors with the smooth operation of program courses, events, and student schedules/records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Minimum completed two (2) year diploma in Esthetics.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of working experience at a spa/salon using an account management system and applying knowledge in specialized esthetics equipment such as a Steamer, high-frequency machine, and brushing machine.

Skills

  • Strong communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Esthetics treatments, skincare products, and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of the program curriculum, services offered and space required based on knowledge of esthetics equipment and services.
