Job description: Job Title: Payroll Specialist Job Summary: We're hiring a Payroll Specialist for one of our Mechanical Contractor clients in Guelph! In this role, you'll be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll, maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with payroll systems, while also providing support to finance and HR with payroll-related reporting and administrative tasks. Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 100% on-site. Job Location: Guelph, ON Shift Structure: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation Structure: From $65,000 per annum + benefits + RRSP contribution Responsibilities: · Process accurate bi-weekly payroll using NetSuite and Payworks. · Reconcile payroll-related accounts and records monthly. · Maintain and update employee payroll files and documentation. · Prepare and process year-end payroll activities, including T4s. · Generate payroll reports, analyze discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues. · Complete payroll remittances, including EHT, EI, CPP, income tax deductions, WSIB, and other required statutory payments. · Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with all applicable federal and provincial legislation. · Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner. · Provide general administrative support and assist with other duties as required. Skills/Qualifications: · Previous experience processing payroll using a payroll system (Payworks experience is considered a strong asset). · Proven payroll processing experience with a solid understanding of the Employment Standards Act (ESA) in Ontario. · Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required. · Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. · Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. · Experience with job costing is an asset. · Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. · Available to work a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Apply Today!
