We attribute our success to our team, who has helped us achieve numerous noteworthy awards including: LinkedIn's Top 10 Startups, Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50, Globe & Mail's Top Growing Companies in Canada, North America’s Inspiring Workplaces, and Glory Professional’s The Power 50: Canada’s Most Impactful Companies.

THE POSITION

We’re hiring a Senior Manager of People and Culture to join our small, high-performing People and Culture (P&C) team. Reporting to the VP, P&C, you will play a key part in aligning Maple’s people strategies with business objectives, ensuring that our P&C initiatives not only support but also drive business success at scale.

As a strategic HR partner, you will work closely with business unit leaders to embed people practices into our overall business strategy. This role is for a "builder-doer" who enjoys both the strategic partnership with leaders and the hands-on execution of the programs that define the employee experience. You will also manage and mentor members of the wider P&C team, fostering their professional growth while improving our operational foundations.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Serve as the primary P&C contact for designated business units, advising on employee relations, workforce planning, change management, and performance management
  • HR Operations: Oversee and elevate critical business as usual functions, including payroll oversight and benefits administration. You’ll ensure our internal processes are seamless, scalable, and compliant
  • People Programs: Lead the design and execution of core programs including performance management cycles and compensation reviews. You’ll also spearhead learning and development initiatives to support continuous growth
  • Compliance: Maintain and evolve our internal policies, ensuring they reflect our modern, human-first culture while staying ahead of employment standards and compliance requirements
  • Learning & Development: Elevate Maple’s growth culture by designing and delivering scalable L&D initiatives that aligns with our learning strategy and supports skill building.
  • Data-Driven Leadership: Leverage data and insights to guide decision-making and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership that improve organizational health and retention

What Success Looks Like Within the first 90 days, you will have conducted a comprehensive assessment of our current people processes, guidelines, and tools, identifying opportunities for efficiency and modernization. You will engage with business unit leaders to gain deep insights into their unique challenges and priorities.

Over the next 12 to 18 months, you will lead the implementation of strategic P&C initiatives that result in measurable improvements in operational accuracy and business partnership. Your success will be defined by the seamless execution of our compensation and performance programs, the evolution of our internal policies and playbooks, and your ability to act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.

We also offer a wide variety of specialties such as dermatology, endocrinology, and mental health therapy, which can be booked in under 72 hours.

Incorporated in 2015, Maple has been operating in Canada since late 2016. We initially launched in Ontario and now offer services in every province and territory of Canada.

About our vision

Maple is defined by three words — simple, connected, and human.

It should be simple to access healthcare. That’s why we created a platform that’s easy to use for Canadians of all ages, abilities, and technology education levels.

Healthcare should be connected. We believe that in the future, the majority of wellness and medical care interactions will occur digitally. Our vision is to have Maple be the primary vehicle for healthcare providers to deliver patient care. Maple is on its way to becoming an open-source system to facilitate wellness and care encounters. Maple boasts a streamlined user experience, integrated digital health record keeping, and tools for continuity of care within Canada’s broader healthcare system.

The human aspect of medicine should never be forgotten. Our healthcare providers are passionate about what they do, and are dedicated to improving patients’ lives with each virtual care visit.

About our team

We’re a tightly-knit group of people who are committed to improving the lives of others. We have an ambitious vision, and we’re excited for our team to continue growing.
