This position may be combined with other part-time YFC position depending on the schedule and needs of the schools and/or department.
Current Shift: 8:00am- 3:30pm Thursday to Friday
Start/end times may vary based on the needs of the specific school
(Includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
10 months per year while regular classes are in session
Pay Rate: $16,890.56
End Date: June 26, 2026
This YFC position supports Indigenous students from the W̱SÁNEĆ community and in the neighbourhood schools within the district.
Successful applicant must have experience working at elementary, middle, and secondary levels as they could be supporting all three levels.
Successful applicant must have experience working with Indigenous youth, develop a rapport with at risk Indigenous children and youth, and assess high-risk situations.
Works closely with Indigenous Education Program staff, Learning Services, counsellors, and school-based administration.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation who represent the learners.
Deep and sound understanding of local Indigenous culture is important.
