About The Opportunity A global energy solutions organization seeks an Electrical Engineer , Power Generation to support complex customer projects across Canada and internationally. You join a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable power solutions across multiple industries.
This role blends engineering design, technical sales support, project execution, and field involvement. You work on diverse projects including industrial facilities, utilities, construction, major events, and energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical power generation and distribution systems aligned with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements
- Partner with Sales teams through site visits, technical presentations, and solution development
- Lead design and procurement of power equipment including layouts, schematics, and bills of material
- Support installation and commissioning of systems including testing and troubleshooting
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and customers across service centers and project sites
- Produce and modify drawings such as single line diagrams, grounding plans, wiring diagrams, and schematics using AutoCAD
- Perform engineering studies using ETAP including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and grounding analysis
- Analyze testing results to confirm design performance and compliance
- Inspect systems for electrical code and safety compliance
- Review and approve engineering deliverables
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Contribute to new equipment design and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer designation preferred in Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia
- Five to ten years of experience in power generation, power distribution, or heavy industrial electrical engineering
- Strong technical knowledge across generators, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, drives, and PLCs
- Experience supporting field installation and commissioning activities
- Strong analytical and problem solving capability
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions
- Travel approximately 25 percent across Canada, United States, Mexico, and Caribbean project locations
