Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6:30am - 3:00pm (40hrs per week)

Work Term: 4 Months (Sept. 2026 - Dec. 2026)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.70 - $36.40. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co-op work terms completed.

Join Our Team as an Assistant QA Inspector (MES) - Day Shift (Co-op)!

The Assistant QA Inspector is responsible for verifying and measuring incoming parts that are flagged for inspection to make sure company standards are met and specifications are matched against engineering drawings. They will also be working with the team on calibrating shop equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approval of finished products for shipment involving visual verification, mechanical inspection and electrical testing
  • Calibration of mechanical and electrical instrument measuring equipment
  • Participate, when necessary, in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Read and interpret part and assembly drawings
  • Collaborate with assemblers and production personnel on quality inspections
  • Record and maintain inspection and calibration records
  • Collect and summarize quality reports monthly

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

  • Pursuing a degree/diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Enrolled and eligible to work a 4 Month co-op term starting in Fall 2026
  • A team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Keen interest in design and manufacturing
  • Some manufacturing experience is an asset

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Work Environment:

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
