About the role
Position Summary:
School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Meal Program Workers to support school-based meal programs in the Burns Lake area, including Decker Lake, Francois Lake, Granisle and Grassy Plains. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist with the daily operations of the School District 91 Meal Program
- Prepare and serve food while maintaining food safety standards
- Support students in food preparation and serving
- Operate kitchen equipment including stovetops, ovens, and dishwashers
- Manage logistics such as grocery ordering, receiving deliveries, and coordinating lunch orders
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Current Food Safe Level 1 Certificate (or equivalent)
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required)
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in a catering or commercial kitchen environment
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
