Northwest Rubber Group of Companies is currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to manage our production team at Northwest Rubber Brantford alongside the Production Manager. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the facility production operations. The Production Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that operations remain a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflow. This position requires an individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a growing, progressive company and continue to grow their skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible to ensure the efficient operation of production on their shift. Responsible for managing all resources on the shift to ensure that there is efficient production of material. Manage the Health and Safety program on their assigned shift and ensure that unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors are quickly addressed and reported accordingly Senior 1st Aid Attendant Maintains a Level 2 first Aid certification or equivalent Ensures provincial employment and safety standards are followed as legislated Participate and lead continuous improvement projects related to Lean Manufacturing Principles Develops & implements new methods, systems, policies & procedures to ensure efficient & effective operation of all shift manufacturing activities. Implements corrective action to prevent downtime and maintain consistent production output. Communicate and co-ordinate with all departments with regards to all manufacturing issues; communicates all production issues to Production Manager. Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly each day. Track performance, analyze data and provide monthly reports Ensures that all established standards for labour, material utilization and product quality are met. Actively promote safe work and good housekeeping practices consistent with the Safety program by employing daily observation and group safety talks to educate employees on an ongoing basis. Enforce safe work and good housekeeping practices; alert the Company of any safety hazard or housekeeping concern. Achieve quality targets Able to accurately identify areas of the machines, perform small repairs in collaboration with the maintenance team Provide support on the floor to maintain production targets Demonstrate professional behavior and maintain confidentiality of personnel issues and proprietary information Ensures proper training & job instruction of employees with respect to expected standards of work performance, quality and job safety. Ensure up to date training and records are maintained. Implement performance management systems to monitor and assess individual performance within the production team. Address performance issues promptly, developing action plans for improvement when necessary. Provide constructive feedback and deliver performance appraisals in line with company policies. Conducts Performance Evaluation of employees reporting into this function. Applies corrective discipline as required. Attend to duties and projects as assigned by Manager or his/her delegate Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a supervisory role. Possess forklift certification or have experience operating a forklift Strong team building and team leadership with experience in a leader position Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Must be mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills Excellent attendance & punctuality Proven experience in continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in troubleshooting and solving operational problems.
