Electronics Field Technologist
About the role
Job Summary Reporting to the Project & Field Services Manager, the Electronics Technologist will install, maintain, and repair the products owned by and distributed by the organization both in-house and in the field. They will perform work both in-house and, in the field, and will be required to follow blueprints and instructions to assemble, service, and maintain systems with minimal downtime needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Troubleshoot electrical issues
- Follow instructions and designs and use manual and power tools to build electrical enclosures (both AC and DC) as well as mechanical mounting brackets and other assemblies
- Assist with design of new systems including the creation of drawings in Solidworks3D
- Fulfill customer orders and complete associated paperwork
- Carefully follow established safety procedures and guidelines
- Travel to sites and perform repair and maintenance work
- Provide Technical Support to Clients
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves users problems with hardware & software
- Fields support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding purchased product
- Commissions and configures systems remotely for clients
- Other duties as assigned to meet business and customer needs
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in engineering or 2 years of equivalent experience
- Full G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and instructions
- Ability to operate electrical and manual machinery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with above average Excel skills
- Structured CRM experience (Salesforce) an asset
- Experience with Solidworks3D is an asset
- Ability to deal with deadlines and tight timelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A keen interest to learn and grow and a willingness to be coached
- Very occasional weekend and night work (once or twice a year)
