Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary Under the responsibility of the immediate supervisor, the nurse executes his duties according to the RI-MUHC nursing model as well as the philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department. He follows policies and procedures and uses the resources related to professional practice and patient and family care management. The nurse recognizes the unicity of a patient as a person. To that extent, he established a collaborative partnership with the patient and their family.
General Duties Under The Direction Of The Immediate Supervisor, The Incumbent
- Performs patient health situation clinical evaluations,
- Provides care planning and establishes priorities,
- Provides care and treatments to patients as required by their health situation and evaluates the outcomes,
- Promotes cord blood and cord tissue collection for clinical trials,
- Collaborates with pairs to identify issues related to work environments, and care and service quality and safety,
- Participates in the development of new personnel as trainer,
- Communicates with the patient and their family, the interdisciplinary team, his pairs or the support staff,
- Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor,
- Collect blood product component by apheresis.

Field of Study: Nursing
Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s in Nursing
Work Experience: One (1) to two (2) years.

- Up to date CPR Certification,

Additional information
Status : Temporary Part-Time (14 hours/week)
Pay Scale : DEC : $24.40 - $45.29/hour
BAC : $30.60 - $56.82/hour Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift : 14 hours/week (4 half-days per week between Monday and Friday)
Work Site : GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
