Job Summary:
Reporting to the Coordinator, Supervised Access Programs, the SAC Worker is responsible to work as a team facilitating a safe and child focused contact between children and their parent and or relative in a protected and structured setting. The SAC Worker will facilitate; monitor and observe on-site and virtual parenting appointments between children and their otherwise absent parent/relative and will supervise the transfer of children between parents/relatives for unsupervised off-site parenting time. In addition, the incumbent will document factual observations of visits; maintain client files/electronic database according to the program’s policies and procedures, assist in maintenance of the centre and equipment and attend meetings and trainings as required. This position is covered by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 2860. The position will be scheduled to meet program needs as per the Collective Agreement. Internal applicants will be considered first.
This role is a relief position. Primary locations of this role will be in Peterborough, Cobourg and Lindsay.
Starting rate: $21.59 per hour.
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Services field.**
- Current and valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Minimum 2 years’ recent related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Computer competency is required.
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB), or equivalent training required.
