Summary:

Department: Supply Chain Department

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Status: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Aurora, ON

As Junior Buyer, you are responsible for the timely procurement of goods and services to ensure cost effective commensurate with quality. You must promote and maintain a high level of communication and liaison with the external supplier community and internal departments. It is expected that you will conduct business with the best interest of Sinclair in mind while following strong ethical and moral values.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure purchasing practices meet company policy, regulatory and legal compliance
  • Place purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of parts and components to meet production schedule
  • Manage open purchase orders and expedite outstanding deliveries to ensure delivery requirements are met
  • Monitor purchase orders, resolve delivery, quality or other issues related to purchases and invoices
  • Work at the commodity level with suppliers to ensure cost/quality improvement and/or economical substitutions
  • Liaise between vendors, manufacturers, relevant internal departments
  • Work closely with planning team on to review material and services requirements daily
  • Co-ordinate with Quality, Engineer and suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues in timely fashion
  • Recommend improvements based on purchasing activities for standardization
  • Liaise with broker to resolve custom issues if required
  • Other duties as assigned.
