Job Description

Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on (VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X) system and sub-system interface documentation;
-
Recommend VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X system level solutions for discrepancies, deficiencies, and changes to equipment and specifications;
-
Liaise with VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X sub-system technical groups to ensure system integrity, performance, reliability, and maintainability;
-
Provide VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X system integration, analysis, and evaluation services;
-
Deliver the planning and procurement support documentation, including technical data specifications, plans and drawings, standards, and Statements of Works (SOWs) for miscellaneous interface and facility ancillary items;
-
Review, analyze, and provide recommendations relating to VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X system components and associated documentation;
-
Conduct design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems;
-
Conduct VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X system integration testing and evaluation;
-
Analyze VLF/LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF/Ka/Ku/X system deficiencies and recommends cost effective solutions;
-
Review and report upon suitability of industry documentation;
-
Conduct technical definition studies and options analysis;
-
Perform any other work related to this category.
Qualifications
-
Must have one of the following:
-
An Engineering or Science degree from a recognized Canadian University or a non-Canadian Engineering or Science degree that must be accredited
-
A diploma or certificate, minimum 2 years from a recognized college in an Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) field;
-
Licensed as a Professional Engineer by any Professional Engineering self-regulatory bodies within the provinces of Canada.
-
Minimum of 10 years experience as a Radio Frequency Systems Specialist.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in writing Project Technical Documentation (e.g. Statement of Work, Statement of Requirements, technical specifications) for IM/IT projects valued $5M or more.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience performing engineering design, system integration, test or analysis and systems design and development.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience with satellite systems; testing RF systems and resolving problems.
-
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience performing at least one of the following:
-
maintenance, repairs, and support upgrades to one or more of following radio frequency systems and/or subsystems:
-
Low Frequency (LF) system,
-
Medium Frequency (MF) system,
-
High Frequency (HF) system,
-
Very High Frequency (VHF) system and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) system;
-
verification and validation testing with RF laboratory test equipment with one or more of the following satellite tests:
-
satellite/platform assembly integration and test, Satellite/platform testing, In-orbit Test, DC & RF harness design, platform and payload layout; or
-
RF circuitry layout, construction, troubleshooting, calibration and design.
Additional Information
- Able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government NATO Secret Clearance
- Able to go onsite 5 days a week in Ottawa
- Potential travel outside the NRC may be required
