Completions Engineer/EIT

Spartan is seeking an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of a Completions Engineer/EIT to join the Drilling & Completions team. This role is primarily responsible for the planning and execution of completion operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner that remains compliant with all government regulations.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in our downtown Calgary location with regular field travel expected.

What You Will Do

Oversee completion operations within a specific area and work closely with field staff to optimize costs and operations Be on call 24/7 for fracture monitoring and response to field troubleshooting Evaluate costs, designs and operational execution Keep up with leading completion technology and implement trials Prepare well reviews and lookbacks of existing completions to continually optimize designs Collaborate with multiple departments within the Company to ensure the efficient flow of information between office and field Develop and maintain water sourcing in areas Ensure capital costs are industry leading Maintain strong working relationships with key service providers Interact daily with field wellsite supervisors on operational aspects Prepare accurate scoping, budget and AFE cost estimates Foster a safe workplace, protecting people, environment, and reputation by ensuring Spartan’s policies and procedures are in place, followed and verified during operations

Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with APEGA membership as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training Minimum of 3 years of industry experience, preferably in Duvernay and/or Deep Basin completions Water management and drilling exposure would be considered an asset Working knowledge of horizontal well completions, workovers and concurrent pad operations Ability to support the preparation and implementation of subsurface programs Familiarity with offset competitor designs and completion trends Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding and dynamic work environment Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines in Alberta Ability to support and coordinate multiple ongoing operations Strong initiative, problem solving and developing project management skills Experience using multiple software platforms including Microsoft Office, AFENav, PetroSight, Spotfire, OpenInvoice and Geoscout Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with field personnel, technical teams and leadership What We Offer Spartan is a modern energy company offering a comprehensive benefits program including a Flex Spending Account; a competitive total compensation package including an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (“ESPP”) and Long-Term Incentive Program (“LTIP”); as well as a collaborative work environment with career advancement and growth opportunities.
