Faculty Appointment Types Full Time-Limited Term Sessional Non-NRSL Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia requires a full-time sessional instructor to teach courses in the Social Service Worker program. The courses to be taught include: Principles of Fieldwork & Community: Practicum & Seminar, Introduction to Social Work, Counselling Theories, Child Welfare: Theory & Practice, Critical Perspectives on Contemporary Families, and Practicum & Seminar.
Skills & Qualifications

A minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent applied Master’s degree;

A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in working with individuals and groups, with at least two (2) years’ experience after the completion of the graduate degree;

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
-
A sensitive approach to a variety of adult student needs, and to international and Aboriginal learners;
-
Recent teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be considered an asset;

Experience with online instruction an asset;

A current criminal records check;
-
Current good standing membership with a regulatory body such as the BCCSW.
Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
