Purpose:
Reporting to the VP and Practice Lead, Biomechanics, the Intermediate Associate will contribute to the investigation and analysis of injury mechanisms and biomechanical performance in forensic matters. This role involves independent file responsibility, direct interaction with clients and legal counsel, and participation in the litigation process, including expert testimony.
Responsibilities:

Lead and manage biomechanical investigations from assignment through report delivery

Conduct site examinations, inspections, and documentation of physical evidence

Review and analyze medical records, incident reports, photographs, surveillance, and other case materials
-
Design and conduct impact and human movement testing and other laboratory and field based biomechanical testing as required

Develop and apply computational biomechanics models and simulations
-
Perform biomechanical calculations and interpret findings within the context of applicable standards and scientific literature

Prepare clear, well supported technical reports for use in litigation and insurance matters
-
Meet with clients and legal counsel to discuss findings and provide technical insight

Prepare for and provide expert testimony at examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, and trial

Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables in accordance with firm standards
-
Travel to and present at biomechanical and industry conferences in order to represent the firm and the filed of biomechanics Contribute to mentorship of junior staff and support ongoing professional development
Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Biomechanics, Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field

Experience with tissue testing, measurement of human movement and/or computational biomechanics
-
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
-
Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
