About the role
Our Compensation Team is seeking Compensation Specialist to join the team in Vaughan Ontario.
The Compensation Specialist is responsible for leading and administering the organization's compensation programs by conducting market analyses, maintaining salary structures, assessing pay equity, and supporting the annual compensation cycle. This role partners with Human Resources and business leaders to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices that align with the company’s total rewards strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Program Administration
- Lead and support all aspects of the annual compensation cycle to ensure accurate and effective execution of the program
- Administer short-term incentive, and long-term incentive programs, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and incentive programs.
- Maintain and update salary structures, job evaluations, and pay grades to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Participate in compensation surveys, analyze results, and provide recommendations based on market trends.
- Maintains organizational job profile catalog, creating and/or updating the information as needed in Workday
Job Evaluation & Market Analysis
- Conduct job evaluations, benchmarking, and salary analyses to provide competitive pay recommendations.
- Collaborate with HR Partners and managers to ensure appropriate job classifications and pay levels.
- Monitor compensation trends and regulatory updates to ensure compliance with pay equity, pay transparency, and other relevant legislation, partnering with HR Partners as needed to ensure holistic alignment prior to implementation.
Compensation Analytics & Reporting
- Prepare compensation reports to support decision-making and leadership insights.
- Conduct pay equity analyses and partner with HR and Legal teams to address any discrepancies.
- Support the development of compensation policies, guidelines, and best practices.
- Support financial modeling to analyze the costs of the various compensation programs.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Provides support for M&A related activities such as plan reviews and position and alignment
- Partner with all applicable stakeholders to provide compensation guidance and insights.
- Educate HR teams and managers on compensation policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support HRIS and Workday/Compensation systems-related tasks, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in compensation analysis, total rewards, or a related HR function.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday).
- Experience with compensation survey tools (e.g., Mercer, WTW, Salary.com)
- Knowledge of compensation laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, Pay Equity, Pay Transparency).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or GRP (Global Remuneration Professional) designation is an asset.
