About the role

Competition: LA**– 25-26-015 – Educational Assistant 1 (EA1)**

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Educational Assistant 1 (EA1) for a work assignment at Lorne Akins Junior High School.

More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.

Hours of Work : 30.0hrs. /week; 6.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hourly Rate: $23.89 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

  • Proven experience implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plan strategies
  • Experience supporting students in achieving ILP and IPP goals
  • Verbal Intervention Training is considered an asset
  • Formal post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
  • Experience using assistive technology to support student learning is an asset
  • Strong skills in managing student behavior effectively and respectfully
  • Experience collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team is an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students in Division 1 and Division 2
