Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager of Housing Programs and the Housing Programs Team. This position also is responsible for the administration of the various aspects pertaining to reviewing applications for eligibility and completion evaluating criteria has been met by applicants for qualified participation in the Niagara Renovates Program. Responsible for all arrangements of meetings, taking minutes, and preparation of letters for appeals.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • 2-year post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, Business, or another related field

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of senior administrative experience working in a computerized office environment
  • Experience in social housing or human services is preferred

SKILLS

  • Excellent organizational and telephone skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent social skills and an ability to effectively manage and build relationships with difficult clients
  • Microsoft Office capability, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual English and French is considered an asset

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate
