The Switchboard Operator is the central link for the Hotel. The Operator answers all calls in a courteous manner and directs all calls to appropriate areas. The operator is also responsible for all radio contact between departments and for paging other departments for requests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Answering all calls courteously, directing calls to appropriate rooms, departments or personnel and screening when necessary.
• Answering any inquiries regarding location, amenities and the Mall or direct calls to the appropriate area.
• Recording messages accurately for both guests and staff.
• Filing registration cards for checkout guests, appropriately file, log and monitor incoming and outgoing parcels, envelopes and faxes.
• Recording Maintenance and Housekeeping requests along with cash only rooms.
• Posting parking charges.
• Helping guests with any inquiries, concerns or complaints. Listen and understand their problems and then solve.
• Flexibility to perform Switch board Night Audit shifts when required.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications

• One (1) to two (2) years previous experience in the same or similar role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Courteous phone manner and a clear speaking voice are definitely preferred.
• Possess excellent organizational, problem-solving skills and be able to work under pressure.
• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Terms Of Employment

• This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
