An exciting opportunity awaits

We currently have an opportunity for a Registered Products Officer to join our team in the Steinbach Corporate Head Office. As the Registered Products Officer, you will contribute to the development, administration and maintenance of regular internal audit programs to assess registered products and evaluating the operational effectiveness and compliance with established credit union policies, procedures, legislation and member service effectiveness on an ongoing basis. You will provide support and assistance to employees within the Registered Product Compliance department.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist in all administration and auditing of registered products on a daily, monthly and annual basis as required (on a rotational basis)
  • Review registered products documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation, identify inaccuracies and violations and follow-up as required
  • Process, audit and verify all estate documentation as it applies to registered products (on a rotational basis)
  • Review monthly registered products reporting , processing corrections as needed and/or following up with front line staff and/or Concentra to investigate further
  • Update and maintain reports for tracking and record keeping, submitting to CRA when applicable
  • On a rotational basis (partnering with RP Officers), ensure all year-end balancing processes are completed within stated deadlines as outlined by CRA. Including all manual production of T4RSP, T4RIF and NR4 tax slips as pertaining to RRSP and RRIF products and mail out of same to required parties
  • Update records in the banking system to address outstanding audit issues, both internally and externally
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to applicable legislation and credit union policies/procedures pertaining to registered products
  • Provide back-up support for data entry and set up of all registered products transactions
  • Apply best practices and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide resource to any staff regarding legislation of all registered products including RRSPs, RRIFs, LIRAs, LIFs, RESPs, RDSP's and TFSAs

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma, plus 1 to 3 years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Business acumen
  • Working knowledge of Registered Product policies and regulatory environments
  • Software proficiency (DNA banking system experience is a prerequisite, Word and Excel)
